Born in Clermont-Ferrand (France) in 1975, the almost Spanish
Natalia Ruiz studied fine arts in Bourges and Dijon.
The shows she took part in, and the collection of drawings she published
in 2005 Fireworks underline a working method and an interest
in shifting signs, categories, aesthetics, and everyday life objects.
Her work also underlines a liking for the more obvious, coarse and
gross traits of a certain feminine condition: cake tins, kitchen table
oilcloths, patchworks, embroidery, sentimental novels…
